GRADUATE Jennie Roberts has landed a dream job in the music business.
Jennie, 21, left Sunderland University with a 2:1 honours degree in journalism studies and joined Quite Great Publicity, which specialises in promotion and events co-ordination.
The firm's clients include Sir Cliff Richard, Chris Rea, Jane MacDonald, Robert Palmer and Deacon Blue as well as some of the country's up-and-coming acts.
Jennie got her big break with the Cambridge firm after a two-week work placement last summer as part of her course.
She said: "The company eventually employed me for the whole summer and asked me if I would work for them after graduation.
"I started out doing mail-outs and answering the phone, but by the end of the summer I had my own clients to work on - writing Press releases and going to media interviews with them.
"It's an incredibly exciting start to my career and shows how important work placements are in helping graduates to get jobs.
"I was able to put the strategy and practical skills that I had learned at Sunderland straight to work."
Jennie, who comes from Cambridgeshire, plans to continue her academic interests alongside her work by taking a masters degree in media and cultural studies through the Open University.
