DRAMA groups from Richmond and Northallerton are among those taking part in the annual Sedgefield Festival of One Act Plays.
There will be seven plays, with Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society presenting Olive and Hilary by Geraldine Aron and The Allerton performing the family drama Tell Me Another Story, Sing Me A Song.
The other companies taking part in the festival are Cliffe Theatre, Sedgefield Players and two youth groups - Sedgefield Players' youth group, the SPYS, and Middlesbrough Little Theatre's Youth Group.
There will be a predominance of women taking part this year and festival secretary Norma Neal says that the amateur stage in general is suffering from a shortage of men.
The festival, hosted by Sedgefield Players, runs in the Parish Hall from Tuesday, September 24, until Friday, September 27, with the final adjudication and buffet supper taking place on Saturday, September 28.
Tickets for the festival can be obtained from members of the societies taking part or by ringing (01740) 620091.
They are priced at £5 (concessions £4.50) nightly or £15 (concessions £13.50) for the week including the Saturday night adjudication and supper. Saturday night only £3.
The plays start at 7.30pm nightly.
