THE WRAPS have come off an £800,000 revamp of historic buildings in Hartlepool.
The Borough Buildings and adjacent Borough Hall have played an important part in Headland life for more than 100 years, including as a venue for community activities, meetings and concerts. They have been re-opened after a six-month restoration and refurbishment programme. People are invited to see the work on Thursday between 5pm and 8pm.
SCOUT FAIR: The First North Ormesby Scouts will hold an autumn fair on Tuesday next week, from 9.30am, at North Ormesby Parish Church Hall.
BIKE SHOW: Motorcycle enthusiasts are being encouraged to get in gear for the 21st Teesside Classic Bike Show, at Redcar Bowl on Sunday, October 6. The event features seven classic bike categories, as well as auto jumble sales, vintage displays and big screen entertainment. The winner of the best bike in the show receives £250. JAIL APPEAL: Volunteers willing to be locked up in a mock prison to raise charity cash are needed. Teesside Hospice is holding a Jail and Bail event at the Cleveland Centre, Middlesbrough, on Friday, October 4. Volunteers will be locked inside a cell until enough cash is raised for their release. CRAFT FAIR: A two-day craft fair will be held at Helmsley Town Hall, North Yorkshire, on Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 5pm. Admission is free.
HEALTH TALK: A free talk on physiotherapy for diabetes sufferers will take place this evening at the North Riding Infirmary, Newport Road, Middlesbrough. Free car parking is available. The event starts at 7.30pm.
STAMP SEASON: Redcar and Cleveland Stamp Society starts its season at 7.30pm tomorrow with a meeting at the Redcar East Community Centre, Durham Road, Redcar. The group meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month. For details call club secretary Jane Wiltshire on (01642) 723963.

GLAUCOMA GROUP: Teesside Glaucoma Support group will meet to discuss cataracts and their connection with glaucoma on Saturday, September 14, at the North Riding Infirmary, Newport Road, Middlesbrough. The talk begins at 2pm.
