IT may seem far removed from the glamour of Bollywood, but the latest Indian movie blockbuster is on course to be shot among the industrial landmarks of the North-East.
Producers are scouring the region for locations for a film which is expected to capture an audience of millions on the sub-continent.
And North-Easterners will have the opportunity to appear in the all-singing and dancing show.
Indian film company KK Films has applied for funding from the Northern Film and Media Screen Commission to shoot the movie in the region.
Ye Jaan Bhi Tumari, Ye Dil Bhi Pumhara - which translates as My Life is Yours, My Heart is Yours - is the story of a young student who comes to England and falls in love. The couple run into serious problems but, in true Bollywood style, love eventually conquers all.
Among locations being considered is the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough, which shot to national fame in the new series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet.
Although the movie will be centred on Teesside, the producers are also looking further afield, with the High Force waterfall in Teesdale, Whitby, Durham Cathedral and Easby Abbey, near Richmond, also being lined up to feature in the film.
Carrie Bainbridge, company director for British agents Pinnical Promotions, said: "The film representatives came here and spent two days with us looking around the area.
"It really will be fantastic for Teesside and the whole of the North-East."
Mrs Bainbridge said models, dancers, singers, actors and members of the public of all ethnic backgrounds were needed for the film. Auditions are being organised. Contact Nadia on (01642) 211385 for details
