TOM Ruecroft won the Dave Franks Trophy for the best leek at the annual Sedgefield Social and Horticultural Society Leek Club show.
He also won the Ramsden Trophy for the best stand of pot leeks and the Carpet Magic Trophy for most points in vegetable classes.
Norman Ellis won the Flower Trophy for most points in section, while Eric Watt took the trophy for the best stand of four vegetables and won the award for the best exhibit in the show, which was a long leek. Results were:

Round potatoes: 1 N Ellis; 2 and 3 M McCarthy. Cucumber: 1 and 2 T Ruecroft. Beetroot: 1 and 3 M McCarthy; 2 N Ellis. Shallots: 1, 2 and 3 T Laverick. Marrow: 1,2 and 3 T Ruecroft. Flat bottomed onions: 1 M McCarthy; 2 and 3 T Ruecroft. Globed onions: 1 and 3 M McCarthy; 2 E Watt. Globed onion under 5lbs: 1 M McCarthy; 2 T Holdsworth; 3 T Ruecroft.
