TWO goals in as many minutes denied Darlington their first derby victory of the season yesterday as their Reserves drew 3-3 with Hartlepool United reserves at Seaham.

Ten days before the clubs' first-teams meet at Victoria Park, Quakers managed to throw away a two-goal lead to allow Pool to scrape a draw in the dying seconds.

Adam Reed and a brace from Mark Sheeran put the Quakers 3-1 up, before substitute Jermaine Easter netted on 89 minutes and a Matty Robson header dragged Pool level. Quakers fielded a pair of foreign trialists. Frenchman Vilocy failed to impress after being introduced as a second-half substitute and was replaced himself, with Nigerian Asiamah looking the better of the pair when he replaced Mark Convery on 75 minutes.

Quakers' assistant boss Mick Tait said: "They are here with us for the week, they came on Monday and this was a chance to see them. I thought the Nigerian lad looked OK when he came on.

"It was a bit disappointing to throw away a two-goal lead like that. We should have closed the game up."

Quakers took the lead in the opening minutes - their first reserve team goal of the season - through skipper Reed and Pool levelled when James Sharp's drive was deflected past Chris Porter.

Sheeran deservedly put Darlington ahead when he headed in an Asiamah cross before the striker made it two with a confident penalty after Sharp handled.

But with the game looking safe, Easter fired across Porter from 12 yards to reduce the deficit and with the last move of the game, diminutive Robson had space to control a cross eight yards from goal and loop a header over Porter.

The senior sides meet for the first time this season a week on Saturday at Hartlepool and there are a limited amount of tickets left for visiting fans, writes Craig Stoddart.

Tickets are now on general sale from the club shop, 10am-5pm.

Meanwhile, Darlington are to designate a section of the East Stand as a families-only area for a trial period. The designated area is in the East Stand Block A Rows 11 to 18 which is located immediately below the stadium control room.

A family ticket, which is for one adult and one child, costs £20 instead of £21 with any additional children being charged £7 instead of £8. Under 16s in this area must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from the club shop or on turnstile seven on match days. Supporters should note that tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, although this policy will be reviewed if necessary.

If the family ticket trial is successful it may become permanent.
