PEOPLE in Stokesley are being urged to attend a public meeting to discuss a scheme to reshape social and community services in their community.
Plans will be on view for the modernisation of care provision for the elderly through the building of a £2.5m complex of one and two-bedroomed flats.
The county council, with Hambleton District Council and the Broadacres Housing Association, also wants to develop a range of facilities on the site of the former highways depot in North Road.
The extra care scheme will provide a range of services similar to those found in care homes.
The apartments will be capable of providing accommodation for the frailest residents, and included in the design is a restaurant and communal lounges, assisted bathing rooms and other specialist facilities.
Plans also include a library and information centre.
Meeting rooms and a caf are also planned. The plans will be on display at the public meeting in the town hall next Wednesday at 7.30pm.
