Weardale Railway Trust needs volunteers to restore track between Stanhope and Bishop Auckland.

HOMES SCHEMES: Plans have been submitted to Wear Valley District Council to convert farm buildings into a house at Hawkwell Head Cottage, Ireshopeburn. School House Antique Shop, Fir Tree, near Crook, could also be converted to a home if plans are approved.
CHAINSAWS STOLEN: An orange Stihl chainsaw worth £620, a black Stihl Partner chainsaw worth £125, and another orange chainsaw worth £520, were stolen from Lizards Farm, Sedgefield, on Tuesday.
GARAGE EXTENSION: Wear Valley District Council has received plans to extend the sales building at Westgate Filling Station, Weardale.
CAR THEFT: A gold Vauxhall Vectra, registration P998 XHG, worth £2,000, was stolen from the car park next to Durham County Motor Auctions, Ferryhill Station, between 6.15pm and 7.20pm on Tuesday.
