GOLF DAY: Members of the Wheatsheaf 2000 Golf Society are travelling to the Woodham Golf Course for their games on Wednesday.
ORGAN MUSIC: The North East Organ society will be entertained by Daniel Watt at 8pm on Wednesday, in the Red Lion at Chester-le-Street.
WOMEN'S COURSES: A series of courses is being held by the Bridge Women's Edu-cation and Support Trust from Monday, September 16, at diverse locations in the district. Enrolment days are being held between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday in their office at 1 High Chare.
EASTERN NIGHT: Sacriston and District Everyman's Club will hear about punishment - Far Eastern Style from E Hughes in the lounge of St John's Court at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
PEACE PRAYERS: Prayers for Peace are being held in St John's Parish Church on Wednesday starting with prayers at 9.30am. The church will remain open for private prayers from 10am until noon when there will be a midday service and prayers for peace with Holy Communion at 7pm.
GERMAN CLASS: Chester-le-Street community centre is to hold an intermediate German class from Friday. The course costs £10 for four weeks and more details can be obtained from 0191-388 4752.
LEEK SHOW: The Osborne Club is holding its Leek Show today.
PILGRIMAGE DANCE: A Lourdes Ball to the music of the Paul James Band and Disco is being held from 8pm to 1am on Friday, September 13, in St Joseph's Parish Centre, Birtley. Tickets cost £5.
MUSIC NIGHT: The Chester-le-Street Riverside Band is staging a Come Home Concert with Roseberry Youth Conn-ection on Friday, September 13, in Roseberry Compre-hensive School. Cheese and wine are included in the £6 tickets with £4 concessions.
DONOR SESSIONS: There will be blood donor sessions from 2.30pm to 7pm on Monday in the Red Lion at Chester le Street between 3pm and 7pm on Tuesday, Septem-ber 17, in the Consett Meth-odist Church, in Station Road, and Monday, September 16, in Burnopfield Victory Club and Institute.
