A Yarm allotment greenhouse used by disabled gardeners has been attacked by vandals.
Gary Quirk, of Rigsby House, contacted the D&S Times after discovering seven plastic window panes were smashed on Saturday.
"We haven't got a clue who's done it or why. It's a brand new greenhouse which is used by four disabled gardeners. We've had a few problems with vandals - this sort of thing keeps happening," said Mr Quirk.
"I'm ringing businesses to see if I can get some help with the repair costs. I've forked out a lot of money for this," he added.
Sheds have been broken into in the past, and garden tools stolen. He said £1,000 had been spent on various materials and facilities at the disabled people's plots.
The allotments were supported by Yarm Town Council as a millennium project and Mr Quirk said there was now a good interest in them. All four plots were being cultivated.
"We're all really annoyed about this and have reported it to Coun Marjorie Simpson. She's looking into it and trying to get security cameras put up."
Since the allotments had opened, there had been five incidents of damage, he said. Other allotment sheds were raided in the spring.
Fellow allotment holder Sue Wales said: "It seems so unfair for this to happen. Gary has put his heart and soul into this scheme.
"But I don't know whether the vandals realise these are disabled people's allotments. Vandalism is a general problem and other allotments have been hit.
