Bus operator, Go North-East, has formed an exclusive partnership with premier rugby club, Newcastle Falcons, as part of its Buses in the Community programme.
Go North-East will provide transport, in the form of 10,000 'bus miles', for the Newcastle Falcon's Sport in the Community Scheme, which provides children from around the area with opportunities in sport and rugby.
It will enable children from schools in the area, who have difficulty affording transport, to be taken to organised training days, club tours and matches arranged by the Falcons Community Team.
This partnership will seek to promote the game of rugby at grass root level and offer opportunities that would not normally be available to children. This partnership looks to provide positive role models and insights to rugby players for children.
Martin Harris, commercial director at Go North East, commented: "In offering this support we are strengthening our own commitment to young people and sport within the region. It is an excellent opportunity for children to gain access and interest in the sport of rugby through a combination of award winning community projects and dedicated local transport."
