Crook Queen's Head A crashed to their first defeat of the season when they went down at home to Crook Cricket Club after comfortably winning the previous 14 matches.
The Cricket Club set up their victory when they took the singles by 4-2 but the Queen's fought back to take the doubles 2-1 and leave the result hinging on the double points team game. It was here that the Cricket Club came out on top to end the Queen's long unbeaten run.
The leading individual scorers were Carol Spencer 140 for the New Market B, Gladys March 134 for the Belle Vue Club, Caroline Muller 132 for Jelly's Bar B, Diane Nesbitt 127 and Ann Varley 121 for the Travellers Rest, Margaret Stewart 125 for the Queen's Head A and Angela Suddes 120 for Dan's Castle.
