Durham B entertained Bishop Auckland and won 9-5 leaving them seven points behind Shildon with a game in hand.
Durham B had two wins from Michael Rhodes, Dave Hodgson and Helen Sharp, one win each from Gary Carr, Trevor Walton and Graham Comerford. Bishop replied with wins from Kevin Watson. David Jacomb, Peter Mernor, David Baird and Mal Parry.
Aycliffe A entertained Crook A and it was the visitors who came out on top winning 8-6. Crook A had two wins from Neil Campbell and David Haygarth, with Steve Liddle, Jim Ainsley, Michael Burke and Dougy Bowey adding one each. Aycliffe A replied with two wins from Chris Peacock and Craig Poskett, one win each from Dave Bromley and Johnny Mason.
After a bad start to the season Crook B have now won seven of their last eight matches when they beat the visiting Ferryhill 10-4 and could go into the top four if they win their games in hand. Crook B had two wins from Gavin Witton, David Stephenson and Les Scott, one win each from Cliffy Owens, Gerald Parkin, Darren Tinkler and John Warriner. Ferryhill replied with wins from Terry Wray, Phil Cox, Simon Corbridge and Martin Short. Shildon beat their hosts Aycliffe B 10-4.
