Thirsk'S final meeting of 2002 takes place tomorrow, when the principal race is the Tote Scoop6 Hambleton Cup.
The £12,000 handicap contest over a mile and a half is one of the country's oldest races, dating back to 1714.
Fillies and mares are catered for in the Black Cat Fireworks Fillies' Handicap Stakes, a £12,000 contest over one mile, while new sponsors Peter Harris Racing support the peterharrisracing.co.uk Maiden Stakes over one mile, in conjunction with the European Breeders Fund.
Another first-time sponsor at Thirsk is the Ampleforth-based company RJF Homes, who support the RJF Homes Maiden Auction Stakes for two-year-olds over seven furlongs.
Going into the last meeting of the season, the leading trainer at Thirsk award, sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey, is led by Malton trainer Tim Easterby, followed by David Nicholls and Mark Johnston.
The Studford Inns-sponsored top jockey of the season competition sees Willie Supple with the advantage over Fergal Lynch and Joe Fanning.
The seven-race programme is scheduled to start at 1.30.
