TWO people will appear in court today charged with causing the death of a Sunderland family man.
A man and a woman from Wearside, who have not been named, have been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, burglary and aggravated vehicle taking. They are due to appear at Sunderland Magistrates' Court this morning.
The charges relate to an alleged hit-and-run crash in Millfield, Sunderland, in the early hours of Monday morning, that claimed the life of retired chef Mohammed Mofiz Ullah, 68, of Hutton Street.
Mr Ullah's nephew, Mohammed Mohibur Rhaman, 28, who was seriously injured in the crash, was yesterday taken off the critical list at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
