TEESSIDE Airport has received a huge boost after seeing its scheduled passengers increase by nearly 11 per cent compared to last August.
Bosses say the rise is largely due to the success of Ryanair's low-cost services to Dublin, which increased by 45 per cent.
The airline added three flights a week to the Irish capital during June and July, offering £10 one-way fares.
More than 9,800 people used the service last month, compared to 6,700 in August last year.
There were also increases in passenger numbers for Eastern Airways, KLM uk and bmi
