CELEBRITY chef Jamie Oliver is visiting the region to promote a book.

Following the success of his best sellers The Naked Chef, The Return of the Naked Chef and Happy Days with the Naked Chef, Mr Oliver has produced Jamie's Kitchen.

He will be at the MetroCentre branch of Waterstones, on September 18, from 12.30 to 2pm.

A spokesman for Mr Oliver said: "This book isn't a clinical or overly-serious learn-to-cook book.

"It's more about trying to give an honest and easy approach to cooking. It is not about being a professional cook, weighed down with having to remember facts and cooking techniques.

"It is about guiding you in your cooking, not instructing."

Jamie's Kitchen will coincide with a new television series in the autumn, and the opening of Mr Oliver's new restaurant in London, which will double as a training school for young chefs.
