HEALTH workers who donned unusual costumes to raise awareness about safer sex have been rewarded for their efforts.
Teesside Positive Action has won second prize in a competition to mark National Condom Week for its sexual health campaign, featuring Captain Condom and Lucy Lube.
Members of the Middlesbrough-based charity - formerly called Cleveland Aids Support - wore the costumes at a series of events at the University of Teesside and local pubs, promoting the message Get it On.
Worker Kathryn Lonsdale said: "Dressing up as Lucy Lube and Captain Condom helps us to discuss the important sexual health issues in a fun way, which is accessible to a wide range of people. We are delighted to have our work recognised."
The charity won 2,160 condoms in the Durex-organised national competition.
