The game of the day between second place Hinderwell and Dormans in Division One was won by Dormans who had nine wickets to spare at the end of a low scoring contest.

Hinderwell, who had previously lost just twice in 18 outings managed only 85 all out as Dale claimed 5-39 and Hussein 4-9. The modest target proved easy for Dormans who romped home when Grosvenor carried his bat for 37 and Patton finished unbeaten on 28.

Leaders Loftus were held to a draw by the Merlin. Batting first Loftus declared with only four wickets down and 176 runs on the board. Dixon (46), Barrett with an undefeated 41, and Severs who made a similar undefeated total were the main contributors, and for the Merlin, Muff took three of the four wickets to go down for 78 runs.

In reply, the Merlin reached 147-9 mainly as a result of the results of Pacitto (31) and Muff (30). Morrison almost clinched victory for Loftus when he captured five wickets for just 58 runs.

Norton had seven wickets to spare in their home game with Staithes who were all out in 34.4 overs for just 121. Allen top scored with 25 and Major added 21 but generally the batsmen were well contained by David Brooks senior who in nine overs returned 3-24 and by Geoffrey Walker, whose 8.4 overs yielded four wickets for 30 runs. Responding, Norton won losing just three wickets in 24.2 overs. Chris Sinclair made the game's top score hitting ten boundaries in 64 not out.

Jack Hatfield's were all out for just 32 in their game at Paragonians for whom Mick Burton took 3-13 from seven overs. Paragonians romped to victory in nine overs losing just one wicket as Andy Driscow struck four boundaries in 21 not out.

Normanby Parklands and Boosbeck drew a high scoring game. Ayub had scored 43 before being run out but when Shoaib carried his bat for 72 and Ali remained unbeaten on 41 Normanby Parklands realised 223 for the loss of just four wickets.

Boosbeck were 144-7 when time was called. Opener Weatherhead struck a half century and Wright made 22 while for Parklands, Shoaib was a top wicket taker with figures of 4-67.

Ormesby Hall overtook the Skelton Castle total of 171 all out with six wickets intact. Atis Quyyam scored 47 before being run out and Price finished unbeaten on 54.

batting first Skelton Castle opening batsman Gratton made the game's top score of 87 and Wrigley added 31 to the impressive total which in the end proved insufficient. Amer Quyyam claimed 4-32, Cook had 3-32 and Davies 3-45 in the Ormesby Hall attack.

Brotton are still way ahead in Division Two and they won for the 13th time in 18 outings when they had 35 runs to spare over Ormesby Hall.

When they made first use of the wicket, Brotton struggled for runs and were indebted to Ridley for his 38 out of a total of just 93. Yeoman claimed 3-10 and Whitwell 3-18 while both Broughton and Smith took two wickets a piece.

The Ormesby Hall batsmen found run making even more difficult than their opponents and were dismissed with just 58 runs on the board. Ghafoor Senior finished with 5-42, Hutchinson took 2-10 and Akram 2-5.

Blacksmiths Arms were all out for just 88 and lost by six wickets to Cowpen Bewley and the task was completed by man of the match Manners who was unbeaten on 72 out of a total of 90-4.

Moorsholm enjoyed their seventh win defeating Skelton Castle by eight wickets. The visitors were restricted to 88-6 in 45 overs as Ray Bangay picked up three wickets for only 23 runs in 13 overs three of which were maidens. Moorsholm made no mistake in their reply and reached the target of 89 with eight wickets left. Hooper, who earlier took a couple of wickets, top scored with 37 and both Wheatman and Wright made 16 runs apiece.
