Runners-up Thirsk finished seven points behind champions Harlow in Division One.

Unlike the champions Thirsk lost three matches this season while Harlow remained unbeaten. But Thirsk's bid for a 100 per cent winning record was spoilt by one drawn match.

Only four sides remained undefeated throughout the season - Harlow in Division One; Northallerton in Division Four; Northallerton second team in Division Five and Wetherby second team in Division Six.

Only one team suffered penalty points during the season. They were picked up by Starback second team in Division Five for not meeting a fixture. It cost them two points and they fnished bottom of Divisin Five with just three points from the season.

* York player Linsey Jacks has won the Yorkshire Under-18 Girls' Tennis Championships in Leeds, defeating 13-year-old Joanna Craven, a member of the North East Regional Academy based at Beckett Park, Leeds.

Jacks, who was top seeded, took a 6-4, 7-5 victory, fighting off a spirited comeback by Craven who the previous week had reached the final of the Road to Wimbledon contest on the hallowed show courts of the All England Club.

Craven came close to forcing a third set having at one stage been 2-5 down in the second.
