Coxhoe Boys: In the first game back in the Russell Foster Tyne and Wear Youth League Coxhoe Boys beat Easington 3-0 last weekend.
The Under-14 side took all three points with Michael Owen bagging a brace and Liam Short got the other.
Defender, Ben Raine, carried on from where he left off last season with another assured display alongside Nathan Ward, Michael Roberts, Daniel Purvis and Jamie Lawson all put in their usual consistent perofrmances while keeper, Tom Orton, made two good saves in the second half.
Coxhoe played nine pre-season friendlies, scoring a magnificent 53 goals and conceding just eight as they won six and lost two.
Their next match is at Coxhoe Leisure Centre on Sunday against Sunderland Rovers (1.45pm).
Chester-le-Street Town
Chester-le-Street Town Under-18s made it four league wins out of four in the Fairs Software Tyneside Junior League when they beat fellow newcomers Prudhoe Town 9-0 at Moor Park.
Craig Watson's sweetly struck drive opened the scoring for Chester before Jonathan Taylor made it 2-0 with a 25 yard effort. England Schoolboy Mark Adamson netted four times, with an own goal, and goals from Daniel Graham and Steven Dawson completing the rout. Gary Draper was the Chester-le-Street man of the match.
The Cestrians have made a good start to life in the league, netting 28 goals and only conceding one in their opening four matches.
Riverside
Chester-le-Street
Riverside Under-11 entertained Plains Farm at the Hermitage in the opening fixture in the Russell Foster Premiere League. A good all round performance by Riverside saw them run out 6-2 winners with the goals coming from Arron Wearmouth (2), Jake Clark, Simon Towers and skipper Shaun Ryder. The Under-12s started the season well with a 6-1 win against Redhouse.
The Under-13s had a difficult first game away to SAFC. Riverside gave a spirited performance but were eventually beaten 4-1. The Riverside goal was scored by Simon Godfrey.
Auckland and District EBAC Youth League
Champions Bishop Auckland Under-18s began the defence of the title with a 3-1 victory away to Spennymoor Legion.
Gary Whittaker opened for Bishops, Jordan Bulmer equalising to make it 1-1 at half time. Darryl Ball restored the Auckland lead with Andrew Kevalay adding the third.
Newton Aycliffe entertained fellow newcomers Meadowfield, and the result was a 2-2 draw. It was goalless at half time, but in the second half Meadowfield went 2-0 up with goals from Scott Ogden and John Dixon.
Seconds after scoring, Dixon was sent off for his second booking. Ryan Wilson reduced the deficit for Aycliffe, and it was Wilson who scored the equaliser in injury time.
Barnard Castle switched their opening game to Coundon & Leeholme but had to play throughout with only seven men on the field. The magnificent Barney seven played their hearts out as Coundon won 5-0 with goals from Chris Stott, Shaun Carling, Andrew Ross and Daniel Wales (2). "The Barnard Castle players did their club proud," said Coundon manager Gary Heighington.
Ferryhill drew 1-1 at home to Chilton YC. Man of the match Tony Morgan scored for Ferryhill, Michael Cairns for Chilton.
Willington have again been sponsored by B & S Engineering who have given the club £200. Owner Barry Fleming handed out the awards at the club's presentation evening. Meadowfield's new strip has been provided by sponsors Lee's Coaches from Langley Park.
Willington Boys
Willington Under-14s, promoted to the premier division of the Russell Foster Junior League, started their new campaign with a 5-1 victory at home to Plains Farm. Harry Drummond scored a hat-trick on his debut.
Adam Combie and Liam Hibbitts were the other Willington scorers. "If I had to choose a man of the match, it would have been the whole team, said manager Jeff Alston, "they came back after losing 5-0 to Bishop Auckland St. Mary's in a friendly."
Willington Under-16s also opened with a victory, beating visitors Plains Farm 4-0 in division one. Daniel Lee, MoM Chris Hutton, Martin Hopps and Darryl Reed got the goals.
