GHOST WALK: Maurice Holliday will lead a four-mile Ghostly Tales and Superstitions walk around Blanchland at 1.30pm next Friday from the main car park in Blanchland.
BICENTENARY SERVICE: The Bicentenary Celebration Mass of Our Blessed Lady and St Joseph's RC Church, Leadgate, will be held at 7pm on Thursday.
HOSPICE FUNDS: A total of £2,395.50 was raised for Willow Burn Hospice by pupils of Catchgate Primary School and patrons of the Smiths Arms and Catchgate Excelsior Club in memory of teacher Irene Marrs, who was nursed at the hospice.

FIRST MEETING: Bill Midgeley will start the season for the Stanley Men's Thursday Club with a talk on a Life In Showbusiness at the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley, at 10.30am next Thursday.
STROLLING OUT: A five-mile History of the Waggonways walk will be led by local historian Hylton Marrs from 2pm on Saturday, September 14, from the Dipton Community Centre, which will provide refreshments after the walk.
PASTORAL COUNCIL: The election for the Parish Council of St Mary's RC Church, South Moor, will be held on Sunday, September 15.
BID FOR FUNDS: A six-mile sponsored walk from Knitsley to Lanchester and back has been organised by the Delves Lane play area on Saturday, September 21. Parental consent forms and sponsorship sheets can be obtained from the community centre or the play area. The group has also started a Tuesday letter draw at 20p per ticket.
GOSPEL ANNIVERSARY: Burnopfield Gospel Fellowship is celebrating its 54th anniversary by holding services at 3pm and 6.30pm on Saturday next week at Burnopfield County Junior School, with tea being served at 4.40pm.
