Darlington market square and surrounding pubs will host a day of music next weekend.

The event, part of the Rhythm 'n' Brews Festival, will be held on Sunday September 15 from 12 noon to 5.30pm.

Key acts include musician and singer Mike Sanchez, who has played alongside Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Bill Wyman and Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood.

Other attractions include Errol Linton's Blues Vibe band who play, reggae, blues and latin music, Amor, a modern blues band and Darlington College's resident band Foola.

The afternoon will be hosted by Centruy FM's The Baldy Brothers.

A special performance of blues gospel music will be performed by Mike Mulroy as part of the 11.15am Sunday service at St Cuthbert's church.

Other performances will also take place throughout the afternoon and evening at the Dolphin Centre, Hole in the Wall, the Pennyweight and the Quaker House pubs.

All the events on Sunday are free as part of the festival, which begins on Thursday at the Arts Centre.
