A WORLDBEATING junior jazz band has amazed supporters by its meteoric rise to the top.
Crook Grenadiers were only formed just over three years ago but they are already world champions.
They started collecting titles son after they were formed in 1998 and have an amazing array of trophies and cups.
The high point of their short career came at Goole, near Hull, when they beat 16 of the best bands around to win the biggest competition in the jazz band world.
Trainer and secretary Julie Scott said: "They have worked really hard to get where they are. We have a great bunch of kids and they are a pleasure to work with. We are like one big happy family."
Helpers threw a party last Friday to celebrate the Grenadiers' success.
They are constantly fundraising to meet transport costs and are always looking for new members, boys or girls, between four and 17 years old.
