TWO men who tackled a mountain challenge have raised nearly £4,000 for young ME sufferers.
John Griffin, whose daughter Lauren suffers from the condition, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with Steve Rodgers in July. Sheila Barry, whose daughter, Carli, took her own life after battling with ME for years, received a £3,820 cheque on behalf of the Tymes Trust.
Mr Rodgers said: "I wouldn't say I would do the climb again, but perhaps something with a similar impact. At least we did something for the charity."
The men thanked friends and associates, including the Crystal Palace, The Blacksmith's Arms, at Skelton, and the Red Lion at Knapton, for their help with sponsorship.
