The Touchdown started off in their usual attacking style and put the Castle under considerable pressure for the opening 15 minutes, but Keeper Kenny Herron pulled off three great saves to deny them scoring. Then the Castle came back into the game and took the lead when the evergreen 54 year old David Bowes produced a fantastic solo run in which he beat three men and then the Keeper to score and put the Castle 1-0 up. Close to the interval Kevin Hodgson picked up a loose ball slipped his marker and scored with a pile driver from 20 yards to make it 2-0 to the Castle.
The re-start saw the Castle miss several chances of increasing their league, then with only 15 minutes remaining Steven Ridden scored with a spot kick to pull one back and gave the Touchdown the chance of saving the game. The Touchdown push all forward but the Castle's defence held firm and despite all the efforts never looked like conceding a goal and ended a well deserved 2-1 winners.
