Brompton (Northallerton)
Brompton Under-17s, last season's Division Four winners in the Teesside Junior Football Leagie, got off to a flying start with a hardfought 3-2 victory at home to New Marske SC on the opening day of the season. New Marske opened the scoring on 15 minutes but Brompton equalised on the half hour with a goal by Vernalls. Brompton responded well from the restart and drew level with an individual effort by Tasker. From this point on Brompton had the majority of play and following a fine cross by Stimson, Vernalls scored to secure the points and his second goal.
