Spennymoor manager Tony Lee has told his players they must give striker Andrew Shaw more support.
Shaw scored for the third successive league game when Moors drew 1-1 at Farsley in midweek, and Lee said: "Andrew was outstanding again, but the players aren't linking up with him.
"He holds the ball up well and lays the ball off, but the rest of the players aren't giving him enough help."
Lee is looking around for players and has made enquiries, but he is unable to sign anybody before tomorrow's FA Cup tie with Ashington because the signing deadline has passed.
Bishop Auckland are now second from bottom in the First Division after they lost 3-2 at home to Workington on Wednesday night.
Despite giving a debut to midfielder Brian Fairhurst from Shildon, Bishops were caught cold by two goals just after half time to turn the game in the Cumbrians' favour.
Fairhurst set up the first goal for Brian Rowe, and even though Workington levelled, Kraig Wilkinson curled a delightful free kick into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box.
But Workington hit back with two goals in the second half, to leave Bishops with just four points from seven league games.
To make matters worse, Radcliffe Borough overtook them in midweek when they won 1-0 at Stocksbridge - the team which scored 17 in an FA Cup tie nearly a fortnight ago.
Gateshead's miserable start to the season in the Premier Division continued when they lost 1-0 at Frickley on Tuesday night, their former player Mark Hine scoring the only goal. Gateshead have picked up just one point in the league all season.
Whitby and Blyth enjoyed a 4-4 draw at the Turnbull Ground on Tuesday night, with two goals coming in stoppage time. Blyth led 3-0 at half time, with Whitby fighting back to lead 4-3 in stoppage time with a goal from Lee Ure. But Blyth levelled in the eighth minute of stoppage time with a goal from Scott Emerson. Blyth's other scorers were Gareth Williams, Glen Robson and Paddy Little, while Whitby scorers were Craig Veart, Aaron Wilford and Paul Campbell.
Whitby have signed midfielder Campbell on loan from Darlington after being unable to force his way into the Darlington reckoning, partly because of an injury he suffered during pre-season.
