The League's clubs were in Durham County Sunday Cup action at the weeekend and Pelton Fell enjoyed an odd goal in five win at Wardley Legion with goals from in-form striker Daniel Bankhead, Andrew Cuthbertson and Derek Willis.
Newcomers Chester Garden Farm had a crushing 9-2 win over former league members Blackhill Scotch Arms. Striker Russell Bell was in devastating form with a five goals salvo, Paul Swinburn struck a hat-trick and the other two efforts were bagged by Andrew Robson.
Blaydon cricketer Mark Drake focussed his intentions on the bigger ball when he hit a hat-trick for Stanley Blue Boar as the beat Billingham Swan 5-2. And, Drake proved his finishing in front of goal is just as his cover driving with a hat-trick. Danny Hagan and Craig Suggett put away the other two goals.
Stanley RAFA were in Hartlepool to play Tunstall Old Boys and performed much better than a 5-1 scoreline suggests, with Kelvin Armstrong scoring for the RAFA.
Felling Mulberry gained their first win of the season with a 7-0 win over Low Fell Jolly Miller who were looking for successive victories.
Both Steven Cairns and Mark Stevenson scored twice along with strikes from Mark Smith, Richard Davidson and Jason Pringle.
Grange Villa found things were to their liking when they rattled up a 5-0 interval lead against the Masons Arms with striker Marc Ward rattling in a hat-trick along with goals from Lee Jervis and a Paul Curry own goal. Masons fared much better after the break and Curry made amends with a goal at the other end and ex-Villa player Andy Thompson struck against his former side to see the final score end at 5-2.
