A DARLINGTON supermarket has raised hundreds of pounds for charity thanks to a big hairy monster.
The Asda store in Whinbush Way was visited by Sulley, star of the hit film Monsters Inc.
The blue, furry beast was in the store to promote the release of the film on video and digital video disc (DVD). Staff at the store took photographs of children with the monster and charged £1 a time, with all proceeds going to Children in Need.
Store events co-ordinator Jane Chapman said: "We have got about £260 up to now, which is brilliant.
"The children loved it, I had people wanting to take him home and keep him in their bedroom. My colleagues loved him as well and we all had our pictures taken."
