CIU League: Byers Green won the play-off match against Middlestone Moor for the runners-up spot in the dominoes section but the result hung in the balance to the final leg.
Billy Carrick put the Moor ahead but Trevor Kerr levelled only to see Dougie Gray restore Middlestone Moor's lead. Jeff Storey equalised and Byers Green went to victory when Malcolm McDonald beat John Snowball 5-2 in the decider.
In the play-off for the Double Dominoes title, Chilton's pair of Joe Miller and Eric Campbell beat Kenny Kirkbride and Steve Wilson of Newfield 5-3. In the play-off for the Captain's dominoes title Billy Hardy of Byers Green whitewashed Jimmy Madgin of Crowtrees.
The qualifying stage of the League's Pool Singles Championship were held at eight venues with one winner from each going through to the next stage. The qualifiers were Kenny Plumpton of Willington, who won from the Prospect, Billy Bowman of Middlestone Moor won from Chilton, Steve Wray of Ferryhill won from Byers Green, Terry Wray of Ferryhill won from Middlestone Moor, Steve Webster of Ferryhill won from Willington, Lane Sample of the Prospect won from Crowtrees and Colin Pratt of the Victoria won from Crook Belle Vue. The Victoria failed to report the competition held in their club.
Willington Ladies League
Willington Club B strengthened their lead at the top when they only dropped one point to the visiting Willington Cottles. This pushed them four points clear at the top of the darts section, with their A team in second place just two points ahead of Willington Lion and Unicorn, Hunwick Joiners Arms and Sunnybrow Brown Trout.
The position at the top of the dominoes section is much tighter for three teams share the top place. They are Willington Burn, Cottles and the Brown Trout who lead Hunwick Joiners Arms by one point.
