ROBERT Ord has dabbled in his favourite hobby since he was just a boy and this week the fruits of his artistic talent have gone on display in east Durham.
Now retired, Mr Ord, who was born in Thornley, is a self-taught painter and a collection of his works is being displayed at the Discovery Centre at Seaton Holme, in Easington Village.
A member of Hartlepool Art Club since he was 16, his first works were completed in oils.
Some years ago, however, he decided to try his hand with pastels and watercolours and now enjoys all three mediums.
He has had several one-man exhibitions across the region and, always seeking new challenges, he recently took up photography.
Mr Ord's exhibition will be on display until Sunday, October 13.
The Discovery Centre is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm, and at weekends until the end of September, from 11am to 4pm.
Admission to the arts and craft centre is free of charge.
