DERWENT WALK: Voluntary Countryside Ranger Mackle Jones will lead a 13-mile walk along the upper reaches of the River Derwent from 10.30am on Wednesday next week, starting from the main car park in Blanchland.
PEARL SHOW: John Steinbeck's The Pearl is being staged by Theatre Cap a Pie at 10am and 1.30pm on Wednesday next week and 1.30pm and 7.30pm the following day at Stanley Civic Hall.

ROUND WALK: A three-mile circular walk through Tanfield Lea Marsh Nature Reserve will start at 11am on Sunday, September 21, from Tanfield Lea Community Centre.
DIARY DATE: Stanley Men's Thursday Club will hold its annual meeting from 10.30am on Thursday next week in the Lamplight Arts Centre, Stanley.
NETWORK MEETING: Stanley Parenting Network (Span) is to hold its annual meeting from noon until 2pm on Saturday, September 21, at Stanley Community Centre. There will be entertainment for children and food will be available.
