An airliner flying from Newcastle Airport had to turn round yesterday after being hit by a bird.
British Airways flight 133 had just taken off for London Heathrow at 2.30pm, when the bird was sucked into an engine.
The pilot of the Boeing 737 returned to Newcastle as a precaution.
Passengers were either booked onto the last flight last night, or put up to await a flight this morning.
