A SERIES of healthy lifestyle afternoons for people aged 50 and over are to be held in a Newton Aycliffe carers centre.
The Pioneering Care Centre, Cobblers Hall, is offering a number of free sessions of activities and tasters.
Activities will include tai chi, a dip in the hydrotherapy pool, complementary therapy demonstration and a featured health topic for the month. Topics include coronary heart disease, medicine management and stress management.
Gill Macnab, events and participation worker at the Pioneering Care Centre, said: "This new scheme is a great opportunity for participants to obtain information on leading a healthier lifestyle whilst having fun and, of course, it is completely free."
The scheme is organised by the Pioneering Care Partnership and Age Concern Durham County, and is open to individuals and small groups. Places are limited.
