A MARKET town can now boast its own community office, which will be home to a host of organisations and facilities.
Kirkbymoorside's new servicewill be launched on Saturday, September 28, at a ceremony to be attended by the town's civic dignitaries.
However, staff from the JobCentre, Ryedale District Council's benefits and housing offices, and volunteers from the YMCA's youth advisory service have already moved into what used to be the public toilets on Crown Square.
With room still to spare, it is hoped others will soon join them, including the police or even local MP John Greenway, who is understood to be interested in using the building for surgeries.
More equipment will be installed later in the year, allowing Kirkbymoorside residents to hold video conferences with council staff based in the authority's head office in Malton.
The Community Office also doubles as a Business Link access point, allowing new and existing firms access to support services available in the area, and a tourist information centre.
Anyone who would like to know more is invited to attend an open day, planned for the day before the formal launch on Friday, September 27.
