A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was mugged for his jacket on Saturday by two men.
The boy was taking a short cut home along a footpath between Devil's Bridge and St Mary's College, Middlesbrough, when he was grabbed from behind, hit in the face and knocked unconscious, and his grey fleece jacket taken, in what Cleveland Police described as a "totally unprovoked attack". The youngster's mother took him to hospital where he was treated for facial injuries. Police say the teenager is still in a state of shock. Anyone with information is asked to call (01642) 303126.

NEW ARTWORK: People from Hartlepool's Headland are being asked to help choose artwork for the area. A public meeting is taking place tomorrow at St Bega's Primary School, Thorpe Street, at 7.30pm, to discuss plans to create works of art to stand in four areas along Marine Drive and the Town Moor.
RUGBY HOUSE: Hartlepool Borough Council has received a planning application from West Hartlepool Rugby Club to use Brinkburn Youth Centre in Blakelock Road as a temporary club house for two years.
