A TEESSIDE surgeon is lacing up his running shoes to help people in India with brain injuries.
Fred Nath, who works at Middlesbrough General Hospital, is taking part in the Great North Run in October to raise funds for a new hospital in Calcutta.
The hospital will treat patients with neurosurgical conditions in north-east India - where many people die each year from treatable brain conditions due to a lack of facilities.
Anyone wanting to sponsor Mr Nath can send donations to him c/o Middlesbrough General Hospital, Ayresome Green Lane, Middlesbrough TS5 5AZ. Cheques should be made payable to The Neurosciences Foundation.
