AN exhibition linking art and medicine has been launched in Hartlepool.
Pharmacopoeia, a visual arts project highlighting prescription drugs and a range of related medical issues, opened at Hartlepool Art Gallery, in Church Square, on Saturday and runs until Sunday, November 10.
Workshops have also been organised to run alongside the exhibition to encourage people to think about different health issues.
Exhibits include a tiara made from 42 headache tablets, a dress containing 25 years-worth of contraceptive pills and a suit of armour made from half the prescription tablets taken by a 76-year-old man in the last decade.
The exhibition has been put together by artists Susie Freeman and David Critchley along with GP Liz Lee.
The workshops are based on seven themes over seven weeks and include sessions on depression and alternative therapies.
Work completed at the workshops will become part of the exhibition and be displayed at the gallery for a review show.
Groups wanting to book a workshop should contact Elaine Molyneux on (01429) 523440.
