A CITY Learning Centre (CLC) opened at a Stockton school yesterday.
Located in a new building in the grounds of Grangefield School, it is one of five CLCs in the region. The centres are a feature of the Government's Excellence in Cities initiative using innovative technology to raise achievement levels.
The centre was opened by Councillor Jean O'Donnell, mayor of Stockton.
In a bid to encourage teachers and residents to visit, the centre will be open from 10am to 8pm until Friday.
Ian Ithurralde, the centre director, said: "We have planned a wide range of free activities and demonstrations as well as tours, details of which can be obtained from the centre or by telephoning (01642) 660570.
"We look forward to welcoming new visitors to the centre," said Mr Ithurralde.
