THE Darlington Primary School Town Football Team has been selected for the forthcoming season.
After a 30-year break, this is the third season a town-wide squad has been selected.
Last year the team won the County Durham five-a-side cup, the County Peter Dunn Cup and the Darlington Young Sportswinners Team Award.
Coach Paul Bielby said: "It is a wonderful honour to represent your town and the management team of myself and Tony Cox are very proud of our players."
The team is based at Haughton School and will shortly play against Newcastle, South Tyneside, Chester-le-Street and Middlesbrough FC Football Academy.
Captain Nicholas Petch is at the Middlesbrough Academy and Craig Swainston and Jack Johns are with Newcastle.
This year's town squad is: Joe Clare (Gurney Pease); Lee Gibbon (North Road); Nicholas Petch (St Bedes); Andrew Kelly (Abbey); Jack Binks (Hurworth House); Matthew Carnelly (North Road); Matthew York (Middleton St George); Craig Swainston (Firthmoor); Mark Grey (Heathfield); Nathan Wilson (Dodmire); Jack Johns (North Road); Sam Newton (North Road); Jonathan Blewitt (Mowden).
