A WELSH Springer Spaniel beat off stiff competition to come out on top at the 34th annual Darlington Championship Dog Show.
Cleavehill Brynberrys was crowned championship winner at the three-day event last weekend.
All the main winners from the show competed in Sunday's final but it was Cleavehill Brynberrys who impressed the judges the most.
The bitch owned by Jean Taylor of Northallerton had taken part in the gundog group of the competition
More than 10,000 animals were paraded at the show, dubbed the Crufts of the North, at South Park.
The rain held off for the show which attracted entries from all over the country and Europe.
