YOUNGSTERS will be helping out shoppers at a Stanley supermarket to raise cash for a children's charity.
About 15 youngsters from Consett YMCA are taking part in a bag pack at the Asda store in Stanley on Saturday, September 28, from 10am until 4pm.
Proceeds from the event will go to Y Care International, the overseas arm of the YMCA, which works with youngsters in developing countries.
Organiser Billy Robson said: "In many of the countries where Y Care International works, making and selling paper bags out of newspaper and glue or offering to carry people's shopping is a livelihood for children and young people living on the streets.
"Bag packing will help us illustrate the kind of work that young people in developing countries do, while raising money for projects that will help them."
Anyone interested in taking part should contact Mr Robson on (01207) 502680.
