VILLAGERS are being urged to join a guided walk to raise money for a skateboard park.
Coxhoe Community Partnership, which created the Coxhoe Kidzone play area, is holding a three-and-a-half mile walk on Sunday.
Money raised will go towards the partnership's project to create a park for skateboarders, rollerbladers and BMX riders, next to the Kidzone site
In June, the partnership and Durham County Council Parish Paths Partnership produced a leaflet of walks to celebrate the Queen's jubilee.
Next Sunday's walk, which is expected to take up to three hours, will be led by Victoria Lloyd.
There will be refreshment stops, and participants, who will receive a certificate and badge, are welcome to take a picnic.
The walk costs £1 for adults and 50p for children, and places should be booked by calling Ms Lloyd on 0191-383 3355. Sponsor forms are also available.
Walkers are asked to meet at Coxhoe Leisure Centre at 10am.
