THE jury considering the case of a man who is alleged to have crept into the bed of a sleeping woman before indecently assaulting her was sent home last night after failing to reach a verdict.
Christopher Gill, 19, left behind a pile of clothes after fleeing in the night when his alleged victim woke up, the court had been told.
Police said Mr Gill was wearing two layers of clothing to make him look bigger when he chatted to the 20-year-old woman in a Darlington nightclub, Michael O'Neill, prosecuting, told Teesside Crown Court earlier.
Mr Gill, of Staindrop Road, Darlington, denies a charge of indecent assault at the woman's Darlington home on October 15.
