YOU could soon be seeing stars while opening your post with Royal Mail's latest set of stamps.
To help celebrate the first anniversary of an astronomy centre in North Yorkshire, four first class stamps make up a picture featuring two galaxies and two nebula.
Royal Mail joined forces with the Scarborough and District Astronomical Society, who run the centre in Dalby Forest with the Forestry Commission.
John Harper, president of the society, said: "We are delighted that Royal Mail has chosen to launch its Astronomy stamps here on the first anniversary of the opening of the centre.
"The centre was established in order to explore a potentially very important and little-appreciated aspect of our forests, namely the dark skies which they provide."
Royal Mail's area manager for North Yorkshire, Andy Lamb, said they were delighted with the partnership.
The images on the stamps were selected by Professor Alec Boksenberg, of The Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge. He worked with Royal Mail three years ago when they launched their Solar Eclipse stamps.
Royal Mail is also issuing a book, Across the Universe - A Guide to Outer Space containing stamp sheets and other information and images.
