A PUB in Harrogate is in line for a national award for its lager.
The Retreat was selected as a regional finalist because of its expertise in serving a perfect pint of Stella Artois and will compete against 11 other outlets to go through to the national final of the Stella Artois Quality Awards in October.
The Retreat was one of hundreds of pubs and bars which submitted an entry in the hope of picking up the award and a £3,000 prize.
The pub's general manager, Alistair Burrows, said: "It's fantastic news as we have only been open nearly a year.
"I'm delighted The Retreat will be going through to the next round in the competition, as it is recognition for my staff and all their hard work."
The award was established by Stella Artois in conjunction with the British Institute of Innkeeping, which aims to promote high standards of professionalism in the licensed trade.
In the coming weeks, each of the 12 finalists will be visited by judges who will select the four finalists.
