ABOUT 200 classic cars will line up at the weekend at the biggest event of its kind in the region.
Classic Car Day takes place at Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, on Sunday, from 10.30am to 4pm. A preliminary launch event was staged yesterday at which George Jolly paraded a 1929 Lea Francis, above left, alongside Derek Cransfield in a 1934 Austin 10. Others on display at the weekend include machines from manufacturers such as Austin, Daimler, Ford, Morris and Riley, all made between 1920 and the mid-1970s. There will also be Rolls-Royce, MG and Rover models. For further details, contact Beamish on 0191 370 4000.
