MACMILLAN Cancer Relief is holding the world's biggest coffee morning on Friday, September 27, to raise money for people and their families who are living with cancer.
About 1.5 million people around the UK will be having a cuppa to raise funds. Jo-anne Mann, from Catterick Village, is supporting the event and inviting people from the area to come to the coffee morning at Booth Hall, Catterick, from 10am until 12pm. VOLUNTEERS sought: Northallerton Stroke Club are seeking volunteers to help run the club following the recent resignation of several committee members. It now faces closure unless it can attract new members. For details call (01609) 770317.
COMEDY SHOW: Members of the Riding Lights Roughshod Theatre Company will be performing their new comedy, 'This Way Up', at All Saints Parish Church, in Northallerton High Street. RAILWAY REPEAT: Wensleydale Railway Association is considering a further exhibition next year, following the success of this year's event at Northallerton Town Hall on Sunday. The hall was filled with displays, model layouts and railway memorabilia, and attracted over 200 visitors. The exhibition was opened by Sandy Dunleavy, from BBC Radio North Yorkshire.
EVENING CLASSES: An eight-week course looking at the Great People of the North starts on Monday, September 23. The classes are held at the Day Care Centre, Wycar, Bedale, between 7pm and 9pm. The course costs £28 and concessions £20, with some exemptions. For more details call (01677) 423621.
