VOLUNTARY and community groups in Darlington are being invited to find out how to apply for Lottery grants.
Next Thursday a National Lottery Fair Share event will be held at the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington. The event will provide community groups with all the information they need to check if they are eligible for a grant and how to apply for cash. Representatives from other funding organisations will also be there. Sessions will be held between 3pm and 5pm, and 6pm and 8pm.
COFFEE MORNING: Clothes shop Elvi in the Cornmill Centre in Darlington is holding a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. The event will take place on Friday, September 27 from 9am until 2pm. The coffee morning is one of hundreds being held across the country to raise money for the charity.
SPANISH COURSE: Greenfield Community and Arts Centre in Newton Aycliffe is looking to establish a beginners Spanish course. Anyone interested in learning basic Spanish can enrol on the eight-week course, starting on Tuesday, October 15, from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Cost of the course is £15 for adults and £10 for under 16s. SCHOOL SALE: There will be a car boot sale at Green Lane School, in Barnard Castle, between 10am and noon, on September 28. Sellers are asked to arrive between 8.45am and 9.45am. Admission is 50p. To book a pitch or table call (01833) 690337 or (01833) 690298.
JUMBLE SALE: Ingleton Village Hall will host a jumble sale on September 27, at 6pm. Proceeds will be in aid of St Teresa's Hospice and the village hall. There will be a cake stall and raffle.
CHERNOBYL CONCERT: There will be a concert held in Mickleton Village Hall, at 7.30pm, on Saturday, to raise funds for the Chernobyl Children's Project.
